What's to come for us : Melissa's update

I feel that sometimes we go through weeks and months here at Big On Shoes with it just being same old same, but boy is that not the case the last 12 months. So far this year we have had so many changes, challenges and laughs so I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know some of these so you can all stay up to date with what is happening.

Firstly we are moving, yep you can just imagine how much of a nervous sweat this gives me after being in our current space for so many years and being sooo moved in but the time has come. Our sister business Fox and Frank (the clothing side of BOS) and us are moving down the road in Town Square. For those locals, we are moving into the old Toyworld building once Toby works his magic on renovation number 8 (he is counting trust me). This space is going to give us a much better back of shop which is what we are so excited about, I am going to get my very first office area (yep can finally play my own music) and we are going to have a whole processing area but best of all a beautiful new front shop (so many plans and now just trying to make them a reality with the very little budget).

I don't think I have ever talked about walls, wallpaper and paint more in my life than I have the last few weeks but it is also really exciting and I am sure once all the work is done we will know it is the right decision. Winter stock is overflowing- so last week after our lastest large delivery I got a text from Bernie saying 'no more we are full' and literally we had shoes on every single bit of shelf that we have here. This then caused us to go seriously focus on getting more shoes out the door which lead us to our sneaky little Mid Winter Sale (if you haven't shopped this get on it ladies), just our newest arrivals that have landed are not included but everything else is a minimum of 10% off. We still have more stock to come - Jacob and Therese, Hinko, Isabella are all due to arrive next week we hope as well as about another dozen styles we are finishing off so they can go live on the website.

Possibly the saddest part is that our Charlie is leaving us. Charlie joined us last year with a traineeship in retail and has without a doubt smashed it but her family and her are making the big move back home so we are going to say goodbye and good luck in the next few weeks. We have some new faces joining us after Charlie leaves but I will keep that a secret just a little longer but can't wait to have some new shoe lovers in the shop with us.

To everyone who has continued to support us THANK YOU. The past 6 months has been our 'Finally climbing out of covid' time and it is so freaking hard. We finally could see the light after a very long two years of retail and online impacts to only get hit with the Qld roll through of Covid (it had to come right), but we are still here and fighting more than ever to spread the word, sell amazing shoes and of course chat and laugh all day long. I hope that the winter chill is in the air when you get up in the morning and that very soon (if not already) the winter boots are out and on your feet (even better if they are new ones).

I hope you have the very best Easter weekend ahead and that it is spent with family and friends and plenty of chocolate is shared.

Love Melissa

Toby very excited to have the keys to the new shop!

A big job ahead of us, first is to remove all the old shelving

Only about 400 more holes to fill before we paint
