5 Styles To Save You In A Wardrobe Crisis

If you're anything like me, a wardrobe crisis is something that pops up a lot of late (perhaps it's the toddler that contributes to this), that is why I now have five go to styles that I keep at the front of my wardrobe that will suit most outfits. I find that by having these basic styles on hand they will go with most outfits that I pull out to throw on. Being in a rush most mornings to try and get out the door, I find it takes a lot of the stress out of it.

I believe that if you have a ballet flat, ankle boot, easy slides, white sneakers and a pair of black sandals, you will have most styles covered.

ballet flats

Ballets Flats

A pair of neutral ballets flats are considered a wardrobe essential for a reason - they go with almost anything plus they are certainly a good style for work to play. You can be in the office all day and then spontaneously decided to go for drinks after work and a pair of ballets will come with you. Simply change out your black skirt for a pair of casual jeans and you are ready for that delicious glass of red.

White Kicks

A pair of white kicks in my eyes is a get out of jail free card. They go with most outfits these days and have saved me time and time again when it comes to something quick and easy. White kicks can go with jeans and a white top, a maxi dress or a skirt and loose fitting singlet combo. Seriously if you do not have a pair of white kicks yet, do yourself a favour and get yourself a pair. These kicks from the new Hush Puppies range are a top fav of mine lately and mainly because of their textured upper. Something a little different while still being plain and simple.

Easy Slides

An absolute essential has to be a slide. I find them easy and go with most outfits, plus on the days when my outfit says very little, I find that my having a pair of dressier slides on (as opposed to thongs) it just gives it that lift without really trying. I am loving our Kora slides simply because they are comfortable, easy to get on and off, are light weight and of course have a print texture (black croc) which has been trending for a number of seasons and will be around for some time to come.

black sandals for women

Black Sandals

Black sandals have always been one of my go to options, I find them easy to piece together with an outfit and I find they can be both casual for day wear yet dressy enough to wear to dinner. If there is one style I love in our current range, it has to be Riley. Even during pregnancy when my feet were swollen one day and then back to normal the next, they were just heaven to wear. I could adjust the buckles to fit and I was ready. A black sandal is certainly a must to add to your essential shoe collection.

Ankle Boots

For those days when I am feeling a bit under the weather after a sleepless night, I find that a fun pair of boots can help lift my mood. Now I am not one for bright colours so Sybil is my go to for good reason. Here in North Queensland our winter days are numbered, so having a pair of boots that are trans-seasonal certainly get more wear. I love wearing them with a shift dress or my skinny jeans and loose fitting singlet. I don't know why, but I find that a pair of ankle boots just make the day better and the mornings easier.
