Sometimes answering the phone or replying to an email can change your life. The first time someone from Facebook contacted me about speaking at the Mackay Community Boost showcase night I thought it was a spam and ignored it for a day and than did some searching and realised it was a real email and phone number so I was very quick to call them back.
Fast forward to the end of 2018 and oh how things have changed. In March I was lucky enough to speak at the Mackay Community Boost Showcase Night about my journey of Big On Shoes and how Facebook has helped us connect with you .
Than in May Facebook came all the way from Singapore to find out more about our little business and film what is now my most watched and cried to video ever. Hard to explain how much emotion can come from a 2 minute video. (We are going to share it soon I promise).
In June I attended the first Australian Facebook Small Business Council after being invited to join this amazing program and help Facebook easier for businesses to use and engage with.
October saw me in the big smoke of Melbourne for the second Small Business Council meeting with the most amazing and inspiring group of businesses and owners to to find out what is happening in the land of FB and Insta again!
Finally in December, we were invited to be one of 30 businesses highlighted in the First Annual Facebook Gift Guide (I know, we screamed too... a lot). But best of all I got to go to Canberra to launch the guide at Parliament House.
As I look back on all of this I am truely amazed at how awesome our team is and what we have achieved and I can promise it is something I will never take for granted.
To other small business owners.. Some days are hard but most are amazing
