To all our beautiful Mackay customers,

It is with great sadness that I write to you to let you know that we have made the very hard decision to close our Mackay store. We have worked day and night (a lot of nights) to avoid this from happening but the time has come for us to make the decision that is right for our staff, families and also our customers.

We will officially be closing our Mackay store on the 24th of December 2020 and relocating over everything back to our Moranbah store over the Christmas break. Our Moranbah store and our online store www.bigonshoes.com.au will continue to operate as normal.

The factors in the decision to close are varied and the impacts of Covid over the last six months and the ongoing struggle in retail has left a gapping hole that has lead to tough decision.  

But if there is one thing I can pass to everyone it is the need to support your local independent businesses and ensure that you are #shoppinglocal. To ensure that they can make it through the hard times like the last 12 months (or longer if you are talking retail).

If nothing else please make sure you go to the City Heart in Mackay, the Town Square in Moranbah or if you live somewhere else in our beautiful country your town centre and buy at least one (or challenge yourself to buy three) Christmas present from a local independent store this year as I can promise you the impact this will have on your small businesses community will be a blessing.  

To say that this has been a devastating decision is an understatement and one that we have spent considerable time working through to ensure we were making the right decision to continue forward as Big On Shoes and grow and follow our passion of bringing beautiful shoes to women all over Australia.

For all our Mackay customers

• We are working through options for Pop Up stores to ensure you can still try on shoes
• All Gift Vouchers and Credit Notes please reach out to us if you cannot come in prior to the Mackay store closure and we will move them to online vouchers
• We are making sure we are staying open right up to the 24th of December for you to allow time for you to pop in

We have truly loved being in Mackay the last few years and I hope that one day things will change that will allow us to one day be back in my hometown which I love deeply #mackaypride.  

The biggest of thanks to our beautiful Mackay staff who have been with us over the years and have made every day a wonderful day with Big On Shoes. The biggest of thanks to Katie who helped me find the passion to open our second store and grew it from the ground up. Katie you have push me and challenge Big On Shoes all the time to offer more to our customers and ensure we were always going above and beyond.
